Hines Senior Analyst or Associate - Development in Boston, Massachusetts

Title will depend on candidate’s experience and qualifications
As a Senior Analyst or Associate - Acquisitions with Hines, you will assist senior management with all aspects of the South Station development project in Boston and support the pursuit of other new development and investment opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide financial and project management support to ensure project completion and bring new market opportunities for consideration
Participate in the management of development projects including feasibility analysis, entitlement processes, financing, design, contracting, and construction management
Structure financial analysis of acquisitions and development opportunities via financial modeling, analysis of cash flows, and application of valuation methods using a combination of Argus and Excel software
Monitor project budgets and schedules for significant variances and oversees contractor payments where appropriate
Prepare reports and presentations for both internal and client needs
Assist in the leasing of certain properties and works closely with legal counsel in review of lease documents
Facilitate the marketing of projects to investors and ensures all project agreements are properly documented
Monitor the flow of information regarding project design among interested parties, including investors, market research personnel, construction groups, and architects
Work closely with appropriate personnel to design and implement marketing plans
Develop a constant awareness of market opportunities
Provide support for project design and site selection activities as needed
Serve as a member of various project teams as required to facilitate company needs
Minimum Requirements include:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required, preferably related to business or finance
Three or more years of related work experience in real estate development or in a financial analysis role, with a record of project success
Passion for real estate development, high quality design and construction, and placemaking of all types
Outstanding work ethic and flexibility; willingness to work evenings and weekends when necessary
Demonstrates resourcefulness and independence in carrying out responsibilities and assignments
Excellent financial and analytical skills
Strong graphics skills are essential (i.e., Adobe suite, PowerPoint)
Fosters positive and productive relationships with project team members and third parties
Focused level of attention and concentration to the tasks at hand
Follows procedure and protocol
Analyze real estate and industry trends from a strategic point of view; Analyze and interpret various types of data to draw conclusions and solve problems
Perform numerical and financial calculations and analysis
Exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate programs and policies and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions
Possess excellent interpersonal skills
Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information and a clear and concise manner
Think creatively and contribute to project success
Successfully manage a variety of tasks within a tight time schedule
Demonstrate strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Interact with employees, visitors, and business partners with poise and professionalism
Establish and maintain a cooperative working atmosphere among staff
Ability to leverage technology and internet to perform all job functions at the highest level
