Senior Application Developer – Business Technology Solutions
The selected candidate will perform application development and support activities for the Product Services Management Group (or externally: a System IT services group) group which supports several tools including the Federal Reserve’s implementation of the Broadcom Clarity (formerly CA PPM) application.
The candidate will work on a team of 5-10 people including technical resources located in the Boston office plus business team members in Boston, Minneapolis and Richmond. Job activities require providing technical and business assistance to 5,000 users across all twelve Federal Reserve Banks plus the Board of Governors.
Tasks may include requirements gathering, data analysis, application and database design, software development, tool configuration, testing, support for user acceptance testing, activities related to migrating new and changed objects to the QA and production environments, on-going production support, and creation / maintenance of technical documentation.
Required skills: •Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics related degree •3 years of software development experience •Experience with project, program, and resource, and management methodologies and/or applications •Experience with reporting and data warehouse concepts and capabilities •Demonstrated Web application development experience in a Linux / Oracle environment using PL/SQL stored procedures, triggers and packages on databases •Demonstrated SQL database skills •Experience deploying applications on an application server such as Tomcat •Working knowledge of XML, .NET and/or VisualStudio •Experience developing interfaces using ETL tools or Web Services • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and designs • Agile development experience • Comfortable working in a virtual team, utilizing collaboration tools such as Skype for Business and SharePoint • Strong problem solving skills and flexibility in approach • Excellent troubleshooting skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Skills: •Experience configuring Broadcom Clarity pages, portlets, reports, and workflows in a Linux environment with Tomcat Application Server, Oracle, and Jaspersoft • Knowledge of the Broadcom Clarity database, including the use of Jaspersoft Domains • Experience performing upgrades of the Clarity application • Broadcom Clarity Certification and experience • Proficient at data analysis techniques including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling • SaaS Experience • Data Analytics •Data migration, using custom templates and XML •Financial management experience •Jaspersoft reporting and domain experience •General Accounting knowledge •JAVA, .NET programming •Experience with Web Services •Experience with planning, implementation and testing of disaster recovery and business resumption plans
