KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate to join our Economic & Statistical Consulting (https://tax.kpmg.us/services/economic-statistical-consulting.html) practice.
Responsibilities:
Perform statistical and financial analysis on economic, regulatory and policy issues of significance to a range of clients in the public and private sectors, both domestically and internationally
Develop quantitative models (such as machine learning, optimization, natural language procession, regression analysis) to process large data sets and conduct complex analyses
Build and apply complex financial models to analyze and price complex transactions and financial instruments
Craft rigorous, insightful narratives on the issues under analysis and translate these into informative professional reports and presentations as needed that are accessible to non-specialists but add value for our clients
Apply creative, innovative, lateral thinking to problem solving
Contribute to the development and maintenance of KPMG's suite of market-leading economic and financial models with a variety of econometric and statistical applications
Qualifications:
Minimum two years of recent experience in the development, application, and interpretation of complex economic and statistical modeling frameworks
Ph.D. in economics, statistics or applied mathematics from an accredited college/university
Excellent technical skills, including in fields such as econometrics, mathematics, empirical software applications and modelling packages (such as Python, SAS, Stata, Matlab and R). Expertise in Python is a must.
Demonstrated research skills and knowledge of various program evaluation designs (such as mixed-methods, experimental and non-experimental methods)
Exceptional research, written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment
Good organizational skills and comfort with multi-tasking
