Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

The Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) team at Dana-Farber is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to lead initiatives that enable departments across the Institute to leverage generative AI technologies and solutions.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will work directly with GPT4DFCI users to coach them on their use cases, help prototype solutions, and explore innovative generative AI possibilities. This role will also support the DFCI AI Fluency Program by leading trainings, developing content, and supporting students in their capstone projects.

The Senior Analyst will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, focusing on enhancing AI fluency, enablement, and developing communities of practice across the Institute.

This role is hybrid with the expectation of being on site 1-2 days per week.

  1. Responsible for working on multiple (2-3) projects simultaneously supporting multiple business stakeholders.

  2. Collaborate with manager to identify high level business need, develop project charter, and consult with the business to define scope.

  3. Lead business requirement gathering

  4. Identify data source(s) and develop technical data design requirements.

  5. Develop viz wireframes and leverage BI tools to craft visualizations and dashboards.

  6. Write SQL queries to develop data sources.

  7. Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders for QA and UAT.

  8. Conduct stakeholder training.

  9. Share knowledge within COBA and train analysts on common tasks.

  10. Contribute to development of analytic assets that can be used institute wide.

  11. Address stakeholder feedback, concerns and aim to deliver a high-level of customer service.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required.

Minimum Experience:

3 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year in healthcare. Tableau and Clarity Data model experience preferred.

License/Certification/Registration:

Tableau certification required within 6 months of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Proficient with SQL.

  • Proficient with BI tools e.g., Tableau.

  • Proficient navigating Epic Hyperspace to Clarity Data Model to data warehouse.

  • Able to set appropriate expectations, discuss and present results to customer in formal settings, share ideas accurately and communicate them effectively, both in writing and verbally with supervisory oversight.

  • Ability to contribute to the development and growth of others.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Curious and motivated learner.
