WTW Senior Claim Consultant Medical Malpractice - Southeast in Boston, Massachusetts

The Role

As a member of the Risk Control and Claim Advocacy practice, provide P&C multi-line claim consulting and advocacy services to clients. Claim consultants will be responsible for the quality and consistency of claim service and suite of consulting solutions for a book of clients. Claim consultant will partner with the Willis Towers Watson local and regional business leadership to provide growth support, innovation and ensure execution of Risk and Broking client service strategy.

The Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Help develop and execute the strategies of the practice

  • Be an ambassador for increasing awareness and understanding of ever-expanding suite of consulting solutions

  • Promote and foster Willis Towers Watson culture

  • Manage the appropriate level of resources for your clients

  • Model professionalism and direction for the practice

  • Maintain local relationships with all major trading partners

  • Participate in meetings and provide ideas and strategies that strengthen the practice

Technical

  • Directly handle clients as primary consultant including complex consulting and strategy

  • Ensure quality and consistency in executing Best Practices

  • Engage subject matter experts across national and global network of professionals to serve client best interest

  • Utilize consulting approach to connect client needs with WTW service and solutions

  • Appropriate utilization of all systems as required

  • Work with others as necessary to continually improve quality and innovation

  • Monitor the performance of trading partner’s services for your clients

Growth and Retention

  • Support new business with sales presentations and RFP

  • Participate on cross-functional teams in presenting service and renewal strategy meeting with client

  • Manage the quality and appropriateness of client service agreements

  • Ensure practice strategy alignment with WTW business plans

  • Regularly meet with WTW executives to ensure delivery alignment

  • Maintain direct relationships with key clients

  • Ensure appropriate program design and documentation - service scope aligns

  • Ensure appropriate internal and client communications

The Requirements

  • 4-year college degree required; a Business or risk management related field is highly preferred. Additional level(s) of education are a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Claim position with prior experience working at an insurance carrier, third-party administrator or broker preferred

  • CPCU, or AIC, or ARM within 3 years of obtaining this position or 5 years or more insurance industry experience exempt

  • Medical Malpractice and Professional liability claim experience, strongly preferred

  • General knowledge of WC, Auto and GL claims preferred

  • Must have appropriate licenses in their resident state

  • Knowledge of Claim Handling & Claim processes and procedures

  • Understand medical case management and cost containment programs

  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures and processes involving insurance

  • Analyze data and provide concise conclusions; communicate orally and in writing, and display versatility in working with different personalities

  • Evaluate information against a set of standards to verify compliance; handle complaints, arbitrate disputes and negotiate settlements, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Obtain relevant information; analyze and report financial data, and communicate technical information orally and in writing

  • Effectively communicate with senior management; evaluate information against a set of standards to verify correctness, and handle complaints, arbitrate disputes, and negotiate alternative solutions

  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously; obtain relevant technical information to support decision making or selling risk improvement programs, and work independently

  • Computer skills relevant to Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web-based applications

  • Interpersonal relationship skills with internal and external executives

  • Project management skills

  • Understand company products, services, global network, and industry practices

  • Understand the process and value of basic data analytics and benchmarking

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $130,000 USD -$155,000 USD. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
