Summary of Position
The Senior Data Engineer will provide ongoing leadership, development, and operational support for current and future data integration, reporting, dashboards, and application analytics support. The person in this role will work closely with leadership, internal and external technical teams, product, financial, and marketing teams across the organization to develop and support solutions that will grow our business. The Senior Data Engineer will leverage his/her experience with all levels of the software stack, including backend databases and APIs, frontend UI frameworks, cloud services, and data integration. This person will be responsible for leading, developing, delivering, and supporting applications, visuals, and integrations for data-driven decision-making solutions. The Senior Data Engineer must have experience developing across a variety of data sources. The selected candidate should be able to follow policies and procedures for maintaining security and integrity of databases and reporting applications. The Senior Data Engineer should be able to lead teams on all phases of complex development and maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities
Understanding systems flow and work processes in the context of the SANS Business.
Be an owner of data warehouse and its feeds.
Develop ETL processes to move and augment data.
Run and Monitor ETL processes to ensure timeliness.
Work closely with software engineering to improve data intake.
Ensure all ETL processes are documented and stored in version control.
Ability to understand how our data and reporting can drive business value and decision making.
Updating and maintaining source data for critical SANS processes.
Develop technical solutions to improve access to data and data usage.
Other duties as required.

Master understanding of SQL
Expert understanding of ETL and Database design
Experience with Snowflake, DBT and Tableau
15+ years experience developing data solutions
Ability to both give and receive critical feedback to drive growth
Strong initiative to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive change in a culturally consistent way.
Reporting Relationships
This position will report to the Business Intelligence Data Team Lead and has no direct reports.

The base salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $150,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and years of experience. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
