The Role

The Broadcom (VMware ) Cloud Foundation Specialist / DNS Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure environments using VMware’s suite of products and helping to manage the DNS infrastructure for external customers. This role requires extensive experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, including vCloud Director, NSX-T, ESXi, VSAN, and SDDC and familiarity with DNS concepts.

The Main Responsibilities

• Administer and Support: Manage multiple VMware Cloud Foundation environments for our customers, ensuring high availability and reliability.

• Optimize Performance: Enhance the performance of the VCF stack.

• Configure and Manage: Handle vCloud Director for single or multi-tenant environments, NSX-T for network virtualization and security, and VMware ESXi hosts and VSAN storage.

• Implement network and security policies, NAT, BGP Routing, and Load Balancing using NSX-T and troubleshoot network issues.

• Develop and Maintain: Provision and manage virtual data centers, implement network and security policies, and maintain SDDC best practices.

• Troubleshoot and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting for VCF, vCloud Director, NSX-T, ESXi, VSAN, and SDDC issues, and work with VMware support and other vendors to resolve complex issues.

• Plan and Execute: Participate in infrastructure upgrades and migrations as required.

• DNS: Monitor and maintain DNS servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.

• Troubleshoot and resolve DNS-related issues, providing Tier 3/Tier 4 support for complex problems.

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience required; 6+ years of related experience or Master's degree and 4+ years of related experience

• Strong knowledge of networking routing and security concepts.

• Experience with additional VMware products and solutions.

• Knowledge of automation and orchestration tools in a VMware environment.

• Familiarity with cloud management platforms and hybrid cloud solutions.

• Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.

• Experience with troubleshooting network devices such as routers, firewalls, and mail servers.

• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of tasks

• VMware certifications such as VCP, VCAP, or VMware Cloud Foundation Specialist.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

$88,980 - $118,630 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$93,210 - $124,280 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
