/Senior Engineer - Network Security Services/

This position is responsible for providing configuration, implementation and support of security and IT systems to the Federal Reserve System. This position is part of the Security and Network Operations (SNO) group, specifically the Boundary Security Operations (BSO) team, which provides network security services to the Federal Reserve System. Perform tasks in conjunction with network security systems day to day operations, including incidents, service request intake and fulfillment, and network currency activities while in compliance of with service level agreements, system standards and industry best practices.

Principal Accountabilities: 1. Plan, implement, and test device upgrades for the portfolio of BSO products. 2. Provide analysis, troubleshooting, and responses to complex network events and requests by utilizing tools, resources, documentation and peer support. Provide second level assistance, critical thinking and oversight to resolve complex issues and perform complex implementations. 3. Participate in an on‐call rotation. After hours and weekend support will be required to support perform tasks and maintenance that cannot be done during business hours. 4. Gather and see to completion complex customer requirements through intake consulting sessions and configure, implement, and test the solutions. 6. Develop necessary documentation as needed when creating or modifying operational processes and/or networks. 7. Communicate and work directly with customers, subject matter experts and colleagues across the Federal Reserve System when necessary to perform day to day operational duties. 8. Assures solutions, requests and work is in compliance with Federal Reserve standards, policies and procedures. 9. Can provide a depth of expertise in BSO’s major technical services or products. Responsible for the mentoring of others, contribution and recommendation to training plans to grow expertise within the department.

Other Accountabilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision: This position is not required to directly supervise others. Travel is limited but necessary for occasional team meetings and training.

Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in an IT field, and a minimum of 5‐7 years of job‐related experience. Individual must be knowledgeable in and able to troubleshoot one or more of the following technologies: enterprise firewalls, web application firewalls, proxy/caching services, routing/switching, load balancing, information security, network security. Active Directory, LDAP, Domain Name Services (DNS). Desired experience in scripting and the development of tools to automate network changes / upgrades and enhance troubleshooting. CISSP and other Security and Information Technology Certifications strongly desired.
