This Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Leading analytical support for long term strategic programs. Serving as point person for assigned projects. Engaging with stakeholders to understand requests and to define the scope of work and deliverables.

  • Conducting complex analyses and coordinating, reviews and preparing monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned accounts and funds, ensuring all activity is recorded, adjustments are calculated, and corrections are made timely and accurately.

  • Reviewing and preparing detailed analyses of various general ledger accounts and selected cost centers, including grants and special funds, as assigned. Reviewing account and/or fund activity for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness.

  • Mentoring team in the preparation and presentation of executive level analyses/reports related to hospital activities including department/program profit and loss information.

  • Reviewing and submitting periodic reports and documents for regulatory agencies and other external organizations as required.

  • Guiding department managers on how best to utilize recommendations and supporting information in formulating robust action plans, including development of timelines and data needs for monitoring progress.

  • Reviewing and preparing various financial and statistical reports for monthly closes, quarterly reviews and year-end audit reporting, including UFR Guidance. Preparing various financial and statistical reports for grant sponsors, donors and federal agencies responsible for overseeing grants awarded to the hospital.

  • Reviewing, preparing, organizing and maintaining supporting documentation and schedules in various media on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis in preparation for the monthly close, quarterly reviews and year-end audit.

  • Maintaining collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working group's achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of previous experience in financial reporting and analysis in a hospital setting required.

  • Expert knowledge of analytics and operational effectiveness.

  • The ability and inclination to proactively and consistently implement process improvements and enhanced analytics techniques.

  • Interest in and the ability to assist in building the technical, data and business analytics skill set of team members and enterprise wide end users.
