Alexion Pharmaceuticals Senior Manager, Development & Safety Operations in Boston, Massachusetts

This is what you will do:
This position will serve as the financial and resource expert for the Development and Safety function. Partners internally with various functions to develop an annual operating plan/budget and resource forecasting/management across Development & Safety. Develops robust processes and systems for business operations and drives compliance with these processes. This role also drives the oversees finalization of contracts, accrual reporting, tracking, invoicing, and financial reconciliation in partnership with Finance, business owners and external vendors.

Partern with functional leaders, Finance and portfolio management to deliver key Development & Safety Business Operations Activities:
Resource Planning
Financial Forecasting & Accruals,
Contracting,
Resource Management : Partners with Development & Safety leadership to build efficient resourcing plans for optimal utilization of internal and FSP resources. Develops capacity and resource reporting and analytics to help leaders manage changing portfolio demand
Budget Management : Manages Development & Safety’s functional budget and serves as primary representative to key stakeholders within Alexion. Responsible for monthly Development & Safety accruals and forecasts.
Contract Management : Develops robust processes to manage POs and invoice approvals, responsible for timely reconciliations, and partners with Finance and Procurement to ensure overall compliance.
Process Management : Accountable for implementing highly effective processes and efficient systems to manage functional budgets and resource management.
Compliance : Ensure compliance to appropriate budget management SOPs. Develop oversight and governance processes to ensure compliance.
You will need to have:
Bachelor’s Degree required
5+ years of development or project management experience within the biopharma industry
Proven experience in budget and resource forecasting and management processes, methodologies and systems.
Proven experience in strategic planning processes at the functional and organizational level
Strong skills in leading and managing cross-functional projects with significant business impact.
Proven excellence in operational strategy and demonstrated ability to execute operationally
Advanced ability to work in a matrix environment and develop constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Be a trusted partner in the functional leadership team and accordingly may be involved in the preparation of functional goals.
