RELX INC Senior Marketing Director, Legal Business Solutions in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description:

The Sr. Director, LBS Marketing, is responsible for leading marketing strategy for LexisNexis Legal Business Solutions. Responsibilities include strategic planning, lead generation, developing and implementing marketing programs, and designing segment messaging.


  • Lead development of innovative marketing plans for $80M+ business, designed to drive strong lead and revenue generation and brand equity

  • Collaborate closely with marketing peers to ensure strong efficiency in plan execution and leveraging best practices across global marketing teams

  • Manage marketing team, potentially across geographies, developing their skills and acumen while inspiring strong execution

  • Lead the development of global segment and portfolio marketing efforts such as solution messaging, migration efforts, integration efforts, cross-regional marketing campaigns, and global product launches

  • Establish recommendations to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency

  • Establish and achieve lead generation, conversion, and revenue goals

  • Establish and achieve marketing expense budget goals including managing a budget of >$500K

  • Establish strong working relationships with sales, product, services and technology planning leadership

  • Provide clear visibility to senior leadership team on key monthly performance metrics and goals

  • Lead the process of establishing annual plans and gaining alignment to internal and external stakeholders, and persuading others to support those plans


  • Undergraduate degree in communications/marketing/business. MBA or JD preferred

  • 8+ years marketing experience

  • Solid knowledge of LexisNexis systems and services preferred

  • Ability to design and execute marketing plans in a matrix environment; ability to support multiple client groups and work across the organization

  • Knows and applies basic marketing mix concepts (e.g., brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, marketing objectives/strategies, customer segmentation)

  • Expertise in driving increased prospect and lead generation volume

  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills with the flexibility to write for different audiences

  • Excellent project management and presentation skills

  • Experience managing large integrated marketing campaigns on time and within budget

  • Experience with product migrations and product integrations preferred
