A Day in The Life

As a Digital Verification Engineer, you will be part of the global Programmable Logic team within the Electrical Engineering department. You will work in close collaboration with other Electrical engineers and other functions such as Software and Systems engineers.

You will focus on defining the strategy for verifying our FPGA and SoC real-time platforms for Surgical Robotics systems and accessories, implementing and executing the corresponding verification activities.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Define verification strategy and testbench architecture at the block and system level

  • Develop testbenches using System Verilog and UVM for functional RTL

  • Develop UVM component like agents (active and passive), scoreboards and environment etc.

  • Develop assertions, functional coverage

  • Develop test plans, UVM based test sequences, layered sequences, virtual sequencers

  • Drive closure of verification metrics to cover verification space

  • Work with the team to identify and close gaps in functionalsimulation

  • Provide regression setup, debug of RTL and gate level netlist

  • Review industry standard specsand best practices and enhance test plan to improve quality of verification

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams like FPGA Designers, Electrical Designers, and Software development teams to ensure successful delivery of product

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 8 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Proven expertise with UVM and/or System Verilog based verification

  • Excellent understanding of digital verification methodologies and proven experience of verification

  • Knowledge of VHDL

  • Experience with Siemens Questa

  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Tcl/Python/Perl

  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink and integrating models within a verification framework

  • Verification of SoCs with CPUor Microcontroller cores

  • Previous experience in the medical device industry or other highly regulated industries

  • Knowledge of robotics or surgical robotics

  • Experience with motors, electro-mechanics, low-level control, sensors, and other physical interfaces

  • Experience with image and video processing and vision algorithms

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum/SAFe development methodology

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
