The ideal candidate will have a strong software product management background plus experience in building api-first services on public cloud. This position will capture and communicate market requirements related to search and integration, collaborate with the broader product management team building apps on the search service and will also interact directly with customers about api requirements. The search service Product Manager will be product owner for one or two scrums teams; will establish a product roadmap, and will work within Salesforce and directly with customers to guide development and implementation of features, and fixes. Successful candidates will have the ability to bridge business and technical considerations to bring innovative and effective products to market. Serve as an expert on market needs for our products. Engage customers, prospects, partners and industry resources to determine commerce search requirements, technical considerations and strategic objectives. Capture and document market needs and product requirements necessary to succeed in the markets we serve – best practices, use cases, personas, cross-functional deliverables.
Define the commerce search service product roadmap and prioritize investments through collaboration with customers, partners and key stakeholders in the organization. Identify minimally viable offerings to meet market needs.
Serve as product owner for one or two development teams building the new commerce search service
Take accountability for the realization of the search service vision through product delivery, company enablement, and customer/partner adoption.
Position search features and capabilities to aid sales engagements and assist in the development of customer, partner, and community collateral
Work with the client-facing teams within Salesforce (sales, support, services, training, etc) to ensure these teams are enabled on new product / feature delivery.
Serve as point person on critical escalations, deprecations and patching issues, shaping customer message and meeting with customers directly.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred
5+ years of software development experience, ideally building features in a micro-services architecture. Experience as a product owner in a SCRUM agile development environment
Exceptional critical thinking & analytical skills and the ability to make informed & fast decisions related to product feature design and direction. Demonstrated experience of ‘owning’ the decision/solution.
Leadership & command presence is required; ability to lead product vision, strategy and feature decisions across geographically dispersed teams is essential.
Experience with building api-first services on public cloud
Experience with software-based services (SaaS)
Ability to engage in detailed technical discussions with engineering and operational teams and making technology related product decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent teamwork skills and collaboration skills
Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated
Travel several times per year to conferences and other corporate locations
