JOB OVERVIEW

This is an opportunity for a Senior Systems Analyst to join the Investor Research Technology Te am . This is a strong and collaborative team offering a role focusing on product leadership and advancement opportunities. The main responsibility of the Analyst is to complete analysis based on discussions with the business directly and translate that analysis into scope and requirements for the delivery team. The team’s Systems Analysts are the bridge between the investment personnel and the delivery team. As such, this position requires a high level of direct interaction with business users and excellent communication and delivery skills. Additionally, this individual will work closely with data and quantitative models to produce conclusions and recommendations for business partners. This position will be primarily focused on building out our research platforms, ESG, and sustainability initiatives, and data analytics capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ownfeatures and be responsible for defining and prioritizing a set of stories to achieve epic outcome(s)

  • Produce thorough analysis and detail requirements of all business functionality

  • Embrace change and understand how to be agile to respond with a sense of urgency

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Project Analysts, and the development team(s)

  • Convey the overall product vision to the different teams

  • Create presentations, product documentation, and other materials, as part of acting as an information and product expert

  • Understand product requirements and make scope decisions to maximize the end user experience without impacting overall Program timelines

  • Negotiate requirements with the larger body of stakeholders

  • Negotiates scope disputes to bring consensus among stakeholders

  • Define clear acceptance criteria for each program feature

  • Understand complex technical concepts and presentin simple terms to non-technical team members

  • Understand end-to-end processes

  • Manage requirements dependencies

  • Closely manage backlog of stories and product features

  • Ensure all stories satisfy the definition of “done”

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, economics, finance, or related subject

  • 5+ years business analysis or systems analysis experience (preferably in financial statement analysis, investment management, or financial services environment)

  • Previous working experience as a Product Owner or Agile Business Analyst

  • Advanced SQL and relational database skills

  • Knowledge of agile process and principles

  • Experience writing detailed functional specifications, use cases, and test plans

  • Experience authoring user stories, grooming product backlogs, and prioritizing conflicting requirements

  • Excellent data analysis skills, with ability to evaluate and interpret data to produce conclusions and recommendations based on findings

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills in buy-side investment management systems and data technologies

  • Understanding of financial instruments such as stocks, bonds, swaps, options, futures, forwards, derivatives and FX

  • Experience with advanced investment data concepts such as holdings, transactions, security master, analytics, and performance

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of investors workflows in areas of research/valuation, performance attribution, compliance, investment book of record and portfolio construction

  • Experience working directly with business partners to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs and build consensus

  • Ability to work as part of a team, in a fast-paced and business-critical environmentHigh attention to detail and strong commitment to delivering quality, professional work areessential for this position

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:

USD 80,000 - 180,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
