Job Summary:

OPPORTUNITIES ARE SHIPBOARD ON AN OCEAN-GOING MARINE VESSEL, WORKING EXTEND HOURS FOR MULTIPLE WEEK ROTATIONS, FOLLOWED BY MULTIPLE WEEK HOME LEAVES

The Electrical System Engineer is responsible for the health and status of the radar as well as running the radar missions.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Accountable and responsible for ensuring that all XBR systems are fully functional and able to support any and all tasking.

  • Perform maintenance work, (preventative and troubleshooting) on the system.

  • Reduce, and analyze the data collected from Digital Simulation (DIGISIM), Analog Simulation (ANASIM), diagnostic tests, and live operations and perform the quick look analysis for system tests.

  • Provide the systems engineering support necessary to complete the installation, test, and evaluation of the SDPE software delivered into the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system and future software builds.

  • Perform other related tasking and supports the XBR Department Head. Has ability and willingness to support 24/7 operations and is flexible with related work assignments.

  • Develop analysis tools to perform the verification of regression test of the software and documenting results. Ensuring that the test and evaluation processes are conducted according to established procedures for software and hardware.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Experience as a radar systems engineer (Understanding of radar signal and data processing)

  • Strong MATLAB experience

  • Experience leading small teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity X-Band radar technology (such as AN/TPY-2, SBX, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Early Warning radar technology (UEWR, Cobra Dane, etc)

  • Experience with root cause analysis of radar systems and interoperability

  • Some demonstrated team leadership experience

  • Well organized

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to generate clear, concise, and intuitive presentations

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and reporting practices

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to work well in a team environment

Education: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in STEM Discipline but relevant work and/or military experience may be used in lieu of degree.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
