The Launch with ADDT creates Echo Show Devices that deliver a visual, always-on surface for Alexa, enabling her to be ever-present and proactively helpful for customers, with rich personalized information and experiences, eager for further customer action by voice or touch.

Amazon is looking for an experienced TPM who is capable of translating high-level, ambiguous business goals into working software solutions with the given hardware capability. Successful candidates are creative, innovative, and take great pride in delivering results and the positive business results of their work.

You will work closely with product managers and UX designers to identify and solve real-world customer problems and business opportunities. You will interact with senior engineers to determine the best practices for architecting, building, testing, and deploying software solutions. You will have the ownership of launching new devices, SW releases for feature launches.

This position requires that you interact with Product Manager, Customer Experience, other Technical Program Managers and multiple Development Teams to define and deliver complex features. You will lead the effective and efficient delivery of the large, complex projects by anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, making tradeoffs, and balancing the business needs versus technical constraints. You will maximize resources for the greater good of the organization. You will create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders all while driving effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.

Key job responsibilities

Do you love Alexa and Echo Devices? Our team created the Out-of-Box experience for Echo devices, cool features like live view sessions between multimodal Echo devices and the context services that allow devices to be available for interaction with users and fade away during night or when users are not around. We are now embarked on the journey to develop Ambient Intelligence and Services for our customers. As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will have influence on our product and technology strategy by helping define the product features, refine system architecture, and spearhead best practices that enable a quality product. You will ensure the teams are delivering the highest quality products and services predictably while meeting the technical needs of our community. You will guide both strategy and tactical decision-making to deliver complex cross-team programs. As well as partner with program managers to help support the strategic deliverables while working with engineering to support important technical efforts.

The role will require constant balance between long term product vision along with addressing immediate needs, driving an incremental approach that is metrics and data driven. It will require communicating effectively with leaders across Director and VP level on a regular basis while ensuring that the teams are aligned and stakeholders are aware of key performance indicators. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
