Position Summary: Senior Technical Sales Specialist - Pharma Analytics

Thermo Fisher Scientific's BioProduction Division currently has a territory opening in the North East areas for a Senior Technical Sales Specialist - Pharma Analytics. The Senior Technical Sales Specialist - Pharma Analytics will concentrate selling Thermo Fisher Scientific's instruments, consumables, software and services to the QA/QC and Process Analytics areas within BioPharmaceutical Process Development & manufacturing or other sterile manufacturing environments. The products are based on PCR and Capillary Electrophoresis technology, used for analyzing and measuring contaminants and impurities important in the bioproduction environment (examples: residual DNA, HCP, mycoplasma, microbial identification).

Based remotely in MA, NH or Upstate NY to cover Western & Northern Massachusetts, Upstate New York, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Eastern Canada.

What will you do?

  • Meets or exceeds assigned sales quota by maintaining growth with existing customer base as well as actively searching for new business opportunities within territory.

  • Performs at-customer-site sales calls and presentations, and appropriate follow-up.

  • Provides regular forecast and contact list updates and call reports.

  • Generates opportunities, monthly and quarterly business reviews and updates CRM.

  • Develops an expertise in the product and services comprising the portfolio; enhances sales and technical skills through periodic trainings/trade shows participation, etc.

  • Works in close collaboration with Field Applications counterparts and with other sales colleagues across the BioProduction team and across Thermo Fisher Scientific, to drive sales opportunities and exceed customer expectations.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) mandatory in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related scientific field. A graduate degree would be a plus.

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience selling life science instrumentation and/or consumables into the pharma/ biopharma or life sciences marketplace.

  • Excellent track record of account management, territory management and sales success.

  • Excellent behavioral/interpersonal skills (teamwork, initiative, commitment-to-task, leadership- ability to drive to goal through effective networking/influencing, overcoming obstacles, enthusiasm, integrity, etc.)

  • Knowledge of qPCR and/or Capillary Electrophoresis products, QA/QC and Process Development areas, within the territory, is a strong plus.

  • Moderate travel (approx. 50%).
