Wolters Kluwer Senior Technical Writer in Boston, Massachusetts
Excellent senior technical writer who can write high-quality, usable documentation that enables our customers to use our software products successfully. If you enjoy solving puzzles and presenting complex, technical information into comprehensive, well-organized, and easy-to-understand documentation, this is the job for you! Technical Writer must have experience working in MadCap Flare.
Coordinates with writers, producers, and other contributors to the product/web site to ensure consistency in style, tone, and quality. Writes and clarifies copy and consult with publishers/editorial department on content style, and format. Ensures that each content page/product is prepared according to specifications.
Write and edit various forms of content, including Online Help, Technical Guides, Job Aids, and Release Notes.
Write and edit end-user product documentation, technical guides, online help documentation, release notes, and other customer product documentation for our software products.
Create single-source content using the MadCap Flare authoring tool to produce deliverables in various print and online formats, including HTML5, CHM, and PDF. Adhere to version control policies.
Attend bi-weekly Sprint Review meetings and collaborate with various departments and team members, including Developers, Product Owners, Project Manager, and Consultants to ensure that documentation meets requirements and deadlines.
Collaborate with the Content and Learning team on documentation architecture, stylesheets, and documentation improvements.
Work directly with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the Technical Team to write and edit technical documentation for our software products utilized by an international client-base.
Become a product expert and keep up with new features and functionality.
Able to work on multiple projects, manage time lines simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
Comfortable managing one's own work, meeting deadlines and collaborating proactively with stakeholders and subject-matter experts.
Interacts with senior internal personnel and resources to accomplish objectives.
Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
Experience
Minimum Experience: 4+ years experience writing technical documentation for software products.
Tools include: MadCap Flare, Lingo, Central and GIT, Capture, and Mimic; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams; PowerBI; Adobe Acrobat; and SnagIt.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
Required:
2+ years directly working on MadCap Flare projects.
5+ years of Content Writing experience for software.
Experience writing for B2B software organizations or in the Technology space.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to work on multiple projects/plans and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
The following knowledge and skill are a plus:
Knowledge of and experience with PowerBI.
Experience troubleshooting HTML and CSS code.
Experience with or knowledge of machine translations
