What will you do as a user experience designer on Oracle’s GBU Design Ops Team?
You will build and maintain mastery level understanding of Oracle’s Redwood Design System.
Work closely with GBU design teams to understand user needs, problems, and goals across diverse GBU use cases to create or extend existing Redwood component designs.
Collaborate with Oracle’s Design Systems Team to understand, contribute, and advocate for GBU needs within the design system roadmap.
Design components with thoughtful micro-interactions that integrate with Oracle’s growing Redwood Design System, prioritize accessibility, and respond across desktop and mobile experiences.
Create interaction specifications using language, diagrams, and prototypes to describe component usage, anatomy, behavior, and configuration with clarity and detail.
Develop and communicate usage guidelines and training materials to help others within the GBU design teams to learn and use the design system.
Partner closely with engineering teams from design to hand off, and ensure components are implemented to specification.
Partner closely with researchers to gain insight to drive and improve designs.
Meet regularly with stakeholders to discuss project status, goals, roadblocks and areas for improvement.
Lead design critiques, stakeholder reviews and customer demos.
Stay well-informed of changing design technologies/methodologies and help drive process improvements and design strategy.
Develop domain expertise in order to reconcile design best practices with business needs.
Actively mentor less experienced designers

Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.
As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically four years of software engineering or related experience needed.
Colorado Pay Range: from $83,000 to $167,000 per annum; eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
