Red Hat Senior/Software Engineer - Front End in Boston, Massachusetts

The Red Hat UXD team is looking for a front end developer to join the PatternFly team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of the the PatternFly design system and component libraries, primarily using React JS to support the user experience vision of our designers and enable products to develop consistent and innovative UIs. You'll need to be both creative and self-motivated, proficient in building web applications, and able to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment. The primary area of expertise for this position is React JS and its associated frameworks (ie. TypeScript, Redux, REST API, CSS, JSX, HTML, etc). The ideal candidate will work HYBRID in Raleigh NC, Boston MA, or Lowell MA.

PatternFly continuously delivers a suite of resources to the Red Hat product portfolio. This role will focus primarily on the release and delivery of PatternFly as well as the development and maintenance of extensions to the PatternFly design system.

What you will do

  • Build out clean, responsive, and accessible component libraries using Javascript, Typescript, HTML or CSS as needed to support the design vision and product needs.

  • Work with UX designers and researchers to bring UI designs from concept to implementation through rapid prototyping and evaluation of design ideas.

  • Aid in testing release candidates and coordinate regular ecosystem wide releases.

  • Contribute to the patternfly.org website maintenance and development.

  • Collaborate with peer developers, designers, and product management during brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and code reviews.

What you will bring

  • Collaborative approach to front-end software development with experience building web applications using React JS, REST, and HTML/CSS.

  • Ability to work HYBRID in Raleigh NC, Boston MA or Lowell MA

  • Experience with development tools like Git, Github Actions, or Webpack

  • Great communication and collaboration skills, with a solid attention to detail

  • Willingness to learn new technologies, languages, and systems

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with development tools like TypeScript, Github actions, webpack, React testing library, npm, and Cypress

  • Experience with agile development and open source projects

  • Familiarity with AWS

The salary range for this position is $90,480.00 - $144,660.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
