Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Are you passionate about tackling hard problems in the data space? Are you interested in building large-scale, low latency data service to solve real world problems? Do you have significant interest in and/or experience with big data systems and distributed database programming? Then the Windows Data Measure Storage team could be the place for you!

Responsibilities

The Measure Storage team is hiring to an engineer to build large scale OLAP warehouse service to power low latency and high concurrent workloads. In this role, you will have opportunities to work on data modeling for distributed database system, high volume data ingestion, and low latency query service that powers some of the most mission-critical BI services for the Windows and Azure organizations. Your responsibilities will include design, implementation, testing, and operationalize storage workload for highly available and reliable services. The role allows plenty opportunities for professional growth.

  • Design, implement, operationalize vNext storage features and services

  • Perform workloads and performance optimizations

  • Incubate and onboard new workloads and services

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or related engineering discipline

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experiences in data engineering

  • Professional development experience developing large scale codebase in C/C++, Python, GoLang, C#, Java, Scala

Prefeffed Qualification:

  • Hands-on experiences in one or more of these open source projects preferred: ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Spark SQL

This role can be fully remote, and successful candidates can come from anywhere within the US
