SOURCING SPECIALIST, Sourcing & Procurement
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Category Manager Site Services in the execution of a data-driven category plan for the University’s site related indirect spend category ($200-250M per annum), which includes office products, furniture/fixtures, vehicle fleet services, parking and transportation services, promotional products, logistics and shipping, moving and storage, and several others. The Sourcing Specialist is expected to deliver measurable, quantifiable cost and/or process efficiencies using BUs established Sourcing Methodology, which includes the following stages:
Project Confirmation, Analysis, and Planning
Strategy Development, Competitive Event
Selection Implementation and Monitoring
Under the direct supervision of a Category Manager, the Sourcing Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, manage, and execute on category plan initiatives to deliver best total value to the university, including managing competitive bid events and negotiating business terms. This role is also responsible for building and managing internal business relationships by providing guidance and expertise on sourcing best practices, including supplier selection, industry insights, negotiation strategies, and contracting. The role will work closely on communication and change management efforts associated with executed projects, in addition to developing and managing a supplier performance program within the assigned site-related spend categories.
B.A./B.S. in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or an equivalent
Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage projects using Microsoft Office products
Demonstrated ability (3-5 years) in procurement, sales, or marketing
SAP SRM, Ariba Sourcing, and CPSM experience also preferred
