The SOX Senior Accountant is an integral part of the US Finance function supporting corporate operations, such as, treasury, legal, facilities, human resources, and risk management. The successful incumbent will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including monthly close activities and a variety of special projects.

Audit, public accounting, and SOX experience REQUIRED.

This role is remote and may require occasionnal visits to Bridgewater, HQ as business needs arise.

Core Responsibilities:

Independently prepares and reviews work in the following areas:

  • Perform testing procedures on SOX controls and document testing results

  • Perform business process walkthroughs and document business process narratives and/or business process flows

  • Proactively identify emerging business and technical risks, issues, and developments in a timely manner for action and incorporation into the SOX compliance program documentation

  • Coordinate monthly close functions including open/close ledgers, FX, and allocations

  • Support internal and external SOX 404 audit requests and compliance requirements

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support departmental, functional and corporate initiatives

  • Assist with the application of GAAP to new transactions

  • Establish rapport and build cooperative, respectful working relationships with relevant internal and external parties

  • As departmental workloads change, additional responsibilities may be required

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ year experience in a SOX compliance and accounting related function REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting REQUIRED

  • Advanced MS Excel / MS Office REQUIRED

  • Experience with HFM/PeopleSoft/SAP preferred
