National Archives and Records Administration SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum. Incumbent assists in planning and preparing for conferences, meetings, and special events, including coordinating services for events. Coordinates all event activity and event services during events, assigns duties to other event staff, meets and greets clients upon arrival and reviews and coordinates schedules for Museum viewing, program needs, and catering operations. Responsibilities As a SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR, you will: Meet with Library staff, clients and vendors to provide information on the Museum and its exhibits, coordinates event activity and services, confirms logistics and schedules, ensures guidelines are met and answers client inquiries. Coordinate all event activity and event services during events, assigns duties to other event staff, meets and greets clients upon arrival and reviews and coordinates schedules for Museum viewing, program needs, and catering operations. Review directly with clients the policies and procedures set forth by the Public Programs Specialist in response to written and verbal requests from individuals and groups who wish to use the physical facilities of the Library for various types of events and programs. Collect important information necessary in preparing and maintaining the master schedule of all activities being held in any area of the library. The work is primarily performed while standing, walking, or sitting and requires bending, reaching, and the lifting and carrying of heavy materials. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-07 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-06 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is described as: Serving on a team that produces events, such as conferences, meetings, and/or special events; AND Conducting tours of an organization's facility; AND Maintaining a schedule for multiple departments/events, such as event space, scheduling of vendors and/or work schedules of a staff/team. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-06 level for 52 weeks.
