We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant based in Boston, Massachusetts to join the finance team for an international consulting organization.

An ideal candidate is an experienced senior accountant, with at least 5-7 years of accounting experience and at least 1-2 years of overseeing and reviewing the work of another accountant.

We view this person as a critical addition to the finance team. They will be part of our finance transformation initiative, working closely with the Assistant Controller and the VP of Finance to help design and implement scalable, efficient, highly automated processes that will be instrumental in supporting our rapidly growing business. This role will draw upon skillsets such as creative thinking, collaboration, communication, organization, documentation and technical accounting. This person likes to visualize and lead change. They have an action orientation and a strong commitment to quality.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Detail reviewer on all journal entries posted within Oracle NetSuite for both our US (US GAAP) and UK (UK GAAP) legal entities. Establish standard documentation protocols for all journal entries posted to NetSuite. Identify efficiency opportunities in our journal entry process through leveraging existing automated journal entry functionality within NetSuite.

Collaborate with the Assistant Controller and VP of Finance in the design and implementation of a month end account reconciliation process. This will include selecting and implementing an Account Reconciliation tool and leveraging the data analytics functionality, enabling early identification of anomalies or unusual trends.

Execute the monthly close process and year end close, including the consolidation of the UK entity at year end. Facilitate the implementation of a workflow tool to help create more visibility and transparency into the month end close process.

Cash Reconciliations – Responsible for overseeing the daily bank reconciliation process, identifying anomalies, such as aging unreconciled cash items. Generate efficiencies within the cash receipts and cash payments process through partnering with our bank, our IT personnel and our Assistant Controller to integrate the bank accounts and NetSuite and generate “auto-matching” of cash activity.

Collaborate with the VP of Finance to create a series of Key Controls for the Finance Team. Oversee the execution of these controls and track execution within a Workflow Tool.

Cashflow Forecasting – Partner with the Assistant Controller and the Director of FP& A to support the cashflow forecasting process.

Loan Management – Work with the VP of Finance and the CFO to create reporting packs for the Banks and Equity investors. Establish a process and utilize a workflow tool to create transparency into the actions items and status for the CFO and others.

Key Liaison with external auditors, addressing audit queries and coordinating responses across teams.

Requirements

Keys:

  • 3+ years experience

  • Strong NetSuite - VPF: “automation experience and ability to walk through a project where they got to automation”

  • Must have private / operational accounting experience (no straight public)

  • SaaS / Software experience plus.
