Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. eBusiness Manager – Chemicals in Boston, Massachusetts

Location: Flexible: remote, or key LCD site (Carlsbad, Pittsburgh, Fair lawn, Boston)

How you will make an impact:

The Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a talented hands-on Senior eBusiness Manager to drive strategic direction, operational execution, and ongoing governance for our chemicals presence on the two eCommerce websites and representing over 100K products and a significant amount of scientific product content and knowledge base. This role partners closely with business and corporate stakeholders across the organization to ensure customer experience with chemicals solutions online meets industry leading quality and adheres to the high scientific standards of our customers. In addition, this role ensures that we have consistent processes for delivering compelling and relevant online content & functionality to our customer base.

What will you do?

  • Lead strategy, and implementation of all online content, tools, and overall functionality for Chemicals websites and electronic storefronts

  • Partner with the broader LCD businesses and functions to develop and deliver product, application, and workflow content that builds and engaging and consistent customer experience.

  • Analyze and evaluate content strategy approaches & online chemicals overall customer experience and recommend new strategies, tools, or approaches as appropriate.

  • Build operational processes to standardize, deliver, and govern content, design, and tools for optimal customer experience and drive efficiencies through automation and process improvement.

  • Program/project management of content migration and creation projects in support of new/updated chemicals’ experiences on and

  • Gather and validate business requirements, and help translate these into new functionalities or enhancements working with Digital Product Managers and Digital Engineers in corporate teams

  • Collaborate with a range of marketing stakeholders, customer service, IT, and LCD leadership to identify changes needed and build business cases for future online enhancements

  • Contribute to the development and execution of digital marketing programs to drive traffic – awareness and demand – for our online chemical solutions;

  • Drive measurement, dashboarding and reporting to demonstrate eBusiness efforts impact

How will you get here?

  • B.S. or graduate degree in digital marketing, computer science/technology, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience working with digital marketing or eBussiness, web content, analytics, marketing systems, or marketing operations

  • Experience working with and ability to communicate and collaborate well with sophisticated and diverse business partners - from commercial, marketing, and product management to leadership

  • Understanding of the digital ecosystem and digital marketing programs and how they impact the online customer journey

  • A deep understanding of taxonomy and information architecture, product and web content creation, content management (CMS) and product information management (PIM) systems

  • Ability to use analytics to advise user research and recommendations

  • Experience with building, developing, and maintaining website content. Experience in tools and techniques for crafting navigation and user flows.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, and familiarity with project planning and budgeting tools

  • Experience with databases, CRMs (SFDC), analytics (Adobe, Google), segmentation and/or email systems (Eloqua)

  • Experience with email, lead-generation, demand generation, web production, and segmentation beneficial

  • A strong passion for improving the customer experience, particularly in eCommerce and web environments – requires an understanding of the buyer’s journey and how this is effectively executed online

  • Ability to operate cross-functionally and navigate matrixed relationships and businesses.

  • Completion of project planning templates and consistent weekly reporting on successes and areas where assistance is required

  • Management of budgets and external contractors

  • Demonstrated ability to get things done with a focus on business impact

  • The ability to prioritize business problems using a logical and analytical mindset

  • The intellectually curiosity to ask the right questions for a deeper understanding and consider creative approaches
