Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Sr IT Contracts Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Senior IT Contracts Manager will handle procurement activities for the ET organization in accordance with BCBSMA’s procurement policies and procedures. This will include but not be limited to: contract/deal negotiation for new acquisitions and renewals; manage RFPs; and vendor management activities.

As a Senior IT Contract Manager at Blue Cross, your responsibility is to manage procurement activities aligned to your business area within the IT organization. More specifically, you will:

  • Drive or support contract negotiation and approval process to establish vendor partnerships, working with legal to ensure contracts protect the organization and meet the needs of the business area.

  • Develop RFPs and facilitates the RFP/vendor selection process.

  • Manage vendor relationships for assigned vendors

  • Analyze potential cost reduction opportunities based on realigning vendors with the market or switching between vendors.

  • Manage contract renewals for vendors within assigned portfolio. This may include software licenses/maintenance, SaaS agreements and service agreements/engagements.

Education and Experience

  • Typically 7+ years IT procurement, contract and vendor management experience

  • Procurement experience with RFPs and complex negotiations

  • Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills

  • Capable of defining the IT sourcing strategy and monitoring third party performance against established service level agreements including dispute resolution

  • Experience with financial analysis and cost reduction strategies

  • Proficient with MS Office applications, Outlook and a contract/vendor management system

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA a plus

  • Healthcare experience a plus
