This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr. Lead Consultant, Data Scientist for our Sacramento , CA office. Must be willing to relocate for the role. Be involved in projects with our Technology Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

This position will ensure the timely creation of reports to meet various business needs, as well as assist in defining processes, standards, and best practices in reports development. This position is also responsible for helping clients establish an enterprise reporting framework that aligns with other areas of the overall enterprise architecture.

Your Impact

  • Review business requirements documentation to understand reporting needs/requirements with respect to business goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with both business and IT SMEs to collect, verify, develop, and document applicable reports requirements.

  • Analyze, evaluate, make changes, and keep up to date all reports requirements and reports specifications.

  • Collaborate with other team members and designated SMEs to suggest and make improvements to enterprise reporting framework and platform architecture and properly document/refine all applicable technical specification.

  • Lead and/or assist in developing a set of standards, processes, and best practices in the use of SQL-based Reports for reports creation

  • Provide guidance and support to other CalSTRS teams; explain reporting standards, processes, and best practices to various stakeholders.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a reports developer creating and fine-tuning SQL reports from data stored in various relational databases.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing, developing, debugging and supporting complex data integration interfaces and processes using various tools and technologies including SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL and SQL Server technology.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience demonstrating understanding of SDLC methodologies specific to requirements elicitation and analysis, analyzing business processes, business process modeling, preparing business use cases, logical data modeling, and user interface design for reports.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related technical degree

  • Strong system analysis skills – data interpretation and explanation of condition, trends etc.

  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.

  • Ability to work independently and with others

  • Must possess a BS in Computer Science or related technical degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related technical degree

  • Previous experience with CalSTRS specific Pension Solution System and in-depth knowledge of the Pension Product that is currently being configured and customized for CalSTRS is highly desired.

  • Experience developing SQL Reports as part of the data integration solution for a Pension Administration System.

  • Strong understanding of SQL Server Replication Services and experienced in setting up replication between a single source and multiple targets.

  • Experience developing and designing a business intelligence solution involving a data warehouse utilizing Microsoft tools and technologies available on premise as well as platform as a service in the public cloud

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

Expected Salary: $99,900 - $203,900
