Robert Half Sr. Litigation Attorney in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

We are seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join a team of legal professionals in a Boston based law firm. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in managing and defending lawsuits from start to finish, all while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of municipal law, employment and civil rights. To excel in this role, you should demonstrate strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage a heavy case load independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of civil cases, including legal research, determining correspondence to be generated, scheduling and preparation of memoranda, pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.

  • Attend court hearings on behalf of our clients and represent them during depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

  • Deal with cases revolving around municipal law, employment law and civil rights.

  • Diligently and independently manage draft motions, briefs, deposition outlines, and legal opinions.

  • E-file court documents and manage logistics in adherence to the local, state and federal e-filing guidelines.

  • Record and submit legal timesheets, ensuring all billable hours are accurately captured.

  • Maintain clear and meticulous records of all case information and actions taken.

  • Demonstrate meticulous organization and attention to detail when maintaining your own calendar and deadlines.

  • Collaborate and liaise with other attorneys to ensure best practices are incorporated into case strategy.

  • Ensure client satisfaction by promptly responding to client queries and updates.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • A JD from an accredited law school.

  • Admitted in good standing to the state bar.

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in litigation.

  • Demonstrable experience dealing with municipal law, employment law, and/or civil rights.

  • Excellent drafting skills with experience drafting pleadings, motions and other court papers.

  • Proven ability to take depositions and execute other steps in the litigation process.

  • Demonstrable experience with legal research tools.

  • Proficient in e-filing in federal and state courts.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • An ability to manage a busy case load independently, meet deadlines under pressure, and handle confidential issues professionally.
