We are looking for a passionate, results-oriented, and creative technical program manager to define and deliver innovative solutions for the Joining Amazon Tech team. The candidate should understand system design and service-oriented architecture, thrive in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable with ambiguity, and lead cross-group teams across Amazon, on an unbeaten path. The candidate should be able to recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.

Successful candidates will have a proven track record of planning and delivering complex programs with multi-year roadmap, using Agile and incremental delivery methods. They must have experience working on complex software systems in a customer-centric environment, driven cross-group teams spread across multiple geographies and handled communication from technical developers to senior VPs.

Key job responsibilities

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you'll orchestrate the delivery of high-impact, cross-functional product initiatives while adeptly juggling multiple concurrent projects. Your exceptional organizational and communication skills will be instrumental in navigating ambiguity, identifying challenges, and crafting innovative solutions. Cross-team coordination, project management, executive communication, and presentation prowess are essential for success in this role.

  • Spearhead the seamless delivery of large-scale, highly cross-functional product initiatives while meticulously tracking and managing a portfolio of smaller projects simultaneously.

  • Drive strategic cross-functional planning by collaborating closely with product managers and engineering leads. Lead the discovery and prioritization processes, developing comprehensive program plans encompassing roadmaps, dependency mapping, and resource allocation.

  • Critically analyze feature requests to uncover the underlying true requirements. Recommend alternative technical approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines while ensuring quality.

  • Communicate plans, statuses, and critical updates to executive management with clarity and effectiveness, leveraging outstanding presentation skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
