Plymouth Rock Assurance Subrogation Claims Representative, Homeowners Insurance in Boston, Massachusetts

Plymouth Rock Home Assurance is looking for an experienced Subrogation Representative responsible for independently investigating, pursuing and recovering monies from parties that are responsible for losses sustained by our insureds This role will pursue appropriate action to facilitate prompt collection and maximum recovery and be responsible for assessing liability and negotiating settlement with all at fault parties. You will be part of a fast-moving team and will be expected to help enhance our process and culture with your insight and experience.

Responsibilities Include:  

  • Proactive approach to your daily tasks

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, providing a high level of service while setting proper expectations for our customers

  • Responsible for the accuracy and clarity of all documents.

  • Investigate homeowner liability cases to identify all potential at fault parties.  

  • Conducting further investigation, if necessary, and the collection of supporting documentation to analyze the recovery aspect of the claim.

  • Contact all responsible claimants and insurance carriers, to ensure timely recoveries.  

  • Present and explain our theory of liability to adverse party. 

  • Negotiate settlements through the tactful application of human relation skills.   

  • Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow Team Members to achieve departmental and company objectives.

  • Possess knowledge of multiple state claim handling guidelines and statutory regulations. 

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 1-3 years of claim experience in Casualty or homeowners.

  • Prior insurance/subrogation/arbitration experience, preferred (liability-insurance background preferred).

  • Ability to obtain licensure in applicable states if required and complete CE credit/classes where necessary  

  • Well versed in the process of and steps required to collect and preserve evidence necessary to prevent spoliation

  • Familiarity with litigation, and Statute of Limitations by State

  • Knowledge of State and Federal liability statutes.

  • Strong claims technical knowledge, and legal climate background is essential.

  • Ability to be thorough and complete when working, processing, or providing information and documentation: tracking details and creating accurate documentation even under pressure.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software

  • Must have proven analytical, negotiation, decision making, problem solving, organizational and presentation skills.

  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and dependability.

  • Strong written and verbal negotiation skills.

  • Ability to maintain files, accurately.

  • The ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusion.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including, Microsoft Office suite.

  • Must maintain a high level of accuracy, and provide follow-through on projects.

  • Requires the ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Able to work in a team and be adept to conflict resolution.
