EY Supply Chain Technical Lead in Boston, Massachusetts

Your key responsibilities

The position serves as a leader & focal point for technical solutions delivery in Supply Chain domain using leading SCM technology vendors such as Blue Yonder (formerly JDA), Oracle, Kinaxis, etc. You will be responsible for solution development including solution architecture and strategies, platform specific development and configuration, data management and integrations with upstream/downstream systems. Specialists in this role leverage deep understanding of business processes to develop detailed technical specifications, and lead development activities to translate them into high-performing solutions.

You will also provide business development assistance.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Overseeing technical team to ensure development of quality software that meets or exceeds user needs.

  • Leading development & deployment of solutions in partnership with product owners, developers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Managing client expectations and provide oversight for technical resources and suppliers.

  • Providing high and detail estimates for new development and enhancements

  • Actively collaborating with subject matter experts, product owners, end users, and other stakeholders to facilitate, gather, and understand business requirements. 

  • Resource planning within the development team to produce deliverables on time. Developing project plans using collaborative project management tools and keeping them up to date. Participating in meetings, taking notes, and logging actions and owners. Effectively managing projects from initiation to completion, with clear communication & follow-up throughout.

  • Translating business and functional requirements into technical specifications. Documenting requirements using appropriate content & formats (e.g., process steps, flow diagrams, desired outcomes, examples, etc.) mapped to corresponding business process. Following-up and clarifying when requirements are incomplete, conflicting, ambiguous, or changing over time.

  • Reviewing system designs and approaches to ensure they meet/exceed business requirements. Seeking alternative approaches that simplify design, minimize resource requirements, and improve user experience.

  • Developing solution strategies and architecture including but not limited to Solution Technical Architecture, Integration Architecture and Strategy, Data Strategy and, User Access and Security Strategy.

  • Staying up to date with industry trends, developments, technologies, and new Supply Chain Technology capabilities. Actively sharing these with team members and applying to existing systems.

  • Modeling effective collaborative behaviors when working with individuals, teams, and suppliers. Following Agile practices and approaches, and actively contributing to Agile ceremonies.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree and ten or more years of related work experience in Supply Chain solution development experience plus three or more years in a lead role.

  • Five or more years of development experience in one of the leading SCM technologies (such as Blue Yonder (formerly JDA), Oracle, Kinaxis etc.). Three or more years in a lead role.

  • Must be willing to expand horizons and gain competency on multiple SCM technology stacks.

  • Lead solution design to deployment including development and expansion in at least one of the leading SCM technologies (such as Blue Yonder (formerly JDA), Oracle, Kinaxis etc.).

  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain domains including but not limited to Purchasing, Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Warehousing, Transportation, and Customer Service.

  • Working knowledge of Report Writers such as Cognos, Actuate, BIRT, Crystal.

  • Working knowledge of SQL development in Oracle and MS SQL.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Able to clearly communicate with leadership and colleagues about technical capabilities, limitations, issues, and recommendations.

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, independent, and resourceful.

  • Able to manage complex technical projects with diverse global stakeholders and detailed, interdependent requirements.

  • Experience with Agile practices and associated tools.

  • Able to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot issues.

  • The successful candidate must also be willing and flexible to travel.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, MIS, Mathematics, or related field (MBA or MS degree preferred).
