Description We are seeking a Systems Engineer based in Boston, Massachusetts. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the telecom sector. The Systems Engineer will be primarily responsible for reviewing and analyzing system security reports to identify potential compliance violations on both Linux and Windows operating systems. The role requires a strong understanding of both Linux and Windows administration along with a working knowledge of common compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze system security reports to identify potential compliance violations on both Linux and Windows operating systems

• Develop and implement remediation plans to address these findings ensuring systems meet the organization's security benchmarks and regulatory requirements

• Apply excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and identify the root cause of compliance failures

• Document remediation procedures and collaborate with system administrators to ensure successful implementation

• Use Active Directory and Windows administration/troubleshooting/security skills to effectively manage system security

• Implement security solutions for Windows and Linux systems

• Use PowerShell and Linux shell scripting (e.g., Python) to automate tasks and streamline processes

• Contribute to projects that cover a range of regulatory findings mostly around compliance to security standards

• Train team members on the usage of tools and standards

• Attend project meetings and implement requirements in a timely manner

• Work remotely with working hours from 9am - 5pm Eastern Time Requirements • Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows OS and Linux

• Experience with Active Directory and System Security

• Demonstrated ability in programming languages like Python and Shell Scripting

• Familiarity with video conferencing tools such as Zoom

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement remediation strategies

• Experience in performing ad hoc financial and competitor analysis

• Familiarity with benchmarking and regulatory requirements

• Proficiency in implementing system security measures and addressing violations

• Ability to provide training and establish procedures for system operations

• Experience in ensuring compliance with established standards and regulations

• Demonstrated ability to work within a framework and implement strategies effectively

• Knowledge of phone screens and video technology
