System One Technical Project Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
OVERVIEW:
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) will act as a technical front face with the US customers, with the goal of accelerating the design approval and interface management processes. Engaging Customer and tender/project development needs to help the Company to deliver a design that fulfills the Contract on time and within budget. The TPM will lead together with HQ TPM and HoM in Company USA the tender/project/product activities and the technical team to ensure the customer satisfaction and CAF targets.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
Plan and coordinate the project task with the customer, the Company US engineering Team and the Engineering Department at HQ.
Will be one of the Company’s leading figures during the Design Reviews with the final customer guiding the Design team to obtain client's approval.
Assess the impacts of the variations (costs and/or lead time) in the projects, as well as the possible effect of the risks and penalties, which in case of affecting the Program should be assessed in a coordinated manner with the PM.
Encourage and guide the use of standardized solutions and monitoring of the defined methodologies.
Track KPIs regarding the activities of the Company US Engineering team in the project/tender/product within the Engineering Design Process and define actions for improvement.
Review design solutions that are under design, revisit contractual requirements, applicable standards, to crosscheck the correct definition of these solutions.
Active Participation in the Functional definition and revision process of the corresponding System, with customer and suppliers.
Receive, analyze and provide first quick answers to the comments/questions received from customer.
Technical management with the final customer: documentation exchange, requirements compliance, verification and validation process.
Generate documentation for the design review of the train vehicle, and for the Homologation process.
Participate/Lead the validation process of the train vehicle, check the compliance of applicable requirements and analyze the results, close requirements.
TRAINING/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in railway rolling stock Design Coordination/Management, either new build or refurbishment
Knowledge in the US Railway sector and Approval process
Knowledge in worldwide standards related with railways will be favourably considered, such as but not limited to: EN45545, EN61373, ASME RT-2, RT-1, EN50128, EN50121, APTAs
Proven experience of technical leadership

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Very good interpersonal and organizational skills, open minded, excellent abilities for teamwork, proactivity, proven level of autonomy.
Strong IT skills with Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT, Microsoft Project.
Being familiar with tools such as DOORs, CATIA, 3DExperience, TRELLO, Program Planner, Eplan
Will be sited in Company’s Boston Engineering Site and will need to be available to travel to Company Headquarters and along the US for the possible projects/tenders.
