The Vestibular Lab Technician will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical assistance during balance and vestibular evaluations. Preparing patients and their families for testing.

  • Initiating the technical component of vestibular evaluation per Boston Children's Hospital protocol under the supervision of the Clinical Director of Vestibular Lab.

  • Performing daily check-ups/calibrations of the vestibular equipment. Troubleshoots vestibular devices under the supervision of the Clinical Director of Vestibular Lab.

  • Maintains organization and records of vestibular equipment. Maintains organization of clinical equipment and toys, clinical and research files and records.

  • Entering data into databases and extracts data as needed.

  • May perform vestibular evaluation with limited supervision after training and being certified.

    To qualify, you must have:

  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare related majors, such as Biology, Psychology or Communication Science and Disorders.

  • Sufficient computer skills in operating vestibular equipment.

  • Previous good customer service skills.

  • Basic skills and judgment to take the appropriate action in circumstances or situations.

  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Pediatric work experience is preferred.
