American Tower Vice President Employee Learning & Development in Boston, Massachusetts

The Team

We are seeking a Vice President, Learning and Development to join American Tower’s Corporate Human Resources team. In this role, the incumbent will work closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer and be responsible for driving the creation of a learning and development strategy that supports the growth and development of employees across American Tower. This individual will lead a team that is tasked with delivering innovative learning solutions to ensure our employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to further the company’s business goals.

What You Need To Succeed

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in learning and development, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • A passion for creating and advancing innovative learning solutions, and a track record of success in developing, managing and delivering training initiatives.

  • A creative problem-solver with a collaborative mindset and excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • A deep understanding of adult learning principles, an ability to effectively manage and prioritize complex projects, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Ability to build relationships across the organization and work well with stakeholders at all levels to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex dynamics, anticipate future needs and make strategic decisions in a changing environment.

  • Comfort and confidence working alongside senior executives in fast-paced situations and ability to successfully influence, facilitate and partner with leaders at all levels.

  • Excellent project management and planning, with keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively; demonstrates proactivity, speed to completion, and performs well against competing deadlines.

  • Strong leadership skills with proven expertise leading, inspiring and developing a high-performing team, building individual skills and team capabilities.

What You Can Offer Us

  • Create an overarching employee learning and development strategy in collaboration with our global regional teams.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to assess, create and continuously improve programs related to workforce development including initiatives that align with our mission and strategy.

  • Identify employees’ training needs and lead the development and implementation of training programs in the U.S. including leadership and management development, professional skills training, compliance training and more.

  • Facilitate a continuous learning mindset by promoting and communicating opportunities for skill development across various communication channels, initiatives and platforms.

  • Guide employees, teams and departments through change by developing change management initiatives and providing support and resources.

  • Integrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategies throughout learning and development programs and activities.

  • Contribute to creating a high-performing and inclusive culture.

  • Partner with learning and development professionals across the global organization to share best/next practices and support training initiatives for all employees.

  • Provide internal consulting to individuals and departments across the global organization on learning and development opportunities that will enhance performance and support the business.

  • Identify and manage key training partners (e.g., vendors, consulting firms, universities, etc.) to assist in the development and delivery of learning programs.

  • Regularly evaluate current development tools and resources and recommend enhanced or new solutions; bring best/next practices to the role.

  • Measure the effectiveness of learning and development initiatives, continuously improving content and strategy.

  • This role will also support other HR initiatives, as needed, during high volume times and overall HR strategy execution.

  • Other duties as assigned.
