Verndale Vice President, Marketing Services in Boston, Massachusetts

About the Vice President, Marketing Services Position At Verndale, we guide our clients to create more human experiences, for a digital world. We combine award-winning digital expertise, with an intimate understanding of people’s behavior, to inspire, design and build connections at scale.

Verndale is expanding its Marketing Services expertise, services and offerings. To lead that charge, we are seeking a VP, Marketing Services who will be responsible for evolving, building and scaling our marketing practice.

As VP, Marketing Services your comprehensive marketing expertise and digital platform fluency will be essential to guiding the definition and expansion of our agency services to serve our impressive roster of middle-market clients, while your vision and leadership skills will help our existing team thrive and grow. This is an opportunity to build atop of a successful foundation and drive a growth trajectory for a rapidly evolving and exciting digital-native agency.

Verndale is fully remote enabled, and we embrace the evolving definition of the workplace. This position can be remote, or hybrid out of our Boston location.  

Responsibilities

This is a new role for Verndale and is at the heart of our ambitions for growth. It represents an opportunity that is both analytical and creative, strategic and operational. We’re looking for someone who can be part of our evolution as an agency as well as driving the transformation our clients, which includes:

  • Leading the definition, creation and delivery of new marketing services and solutions, that will drive impact for our clients and growth for our business

  • Leading a team of marketing practitioners who serve our clients, inspiring and guiding our experts with ongoing coaching, feedback on agency deliverables while also motivating and mentoring their ongoing career development

  • Partnering with clients, understanding their business challenges, consulting on their marketing strategy and advising on the services, platforms, tactics or approaches that will accelerate their business impact

  • Contributing to agency growth by participating in RFP/pitch activities, collaborating with Strategy, Design and Technology teams to develop winning ideas and demonstrate solutions to clients’ business challenges

  • Developing marketing platform or mar-tech partnerships and relationships, building team accreditations, training and ultimately establishing Verndale as a preferred partner across the digital marketing landscape

  • Representing Verndale in any and all external communications, including PR activities, events, forums or partner channels to raise our agency profile and demonstrate our marketing expertise

  • Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, sharing expertise and driving collective success for clients and colleagues alike

    Qualifications 

    This is a new and pivotal role, requiring a depth of expertise in marketing and/or data analysis roles (12 years), including a track record of impactful work experience and professional ingenuity – which means you are:

  • A marketing expert with deep knowledge and/or training in marketing fundamentals so you know how drive our clients’ brand growth and advise them on strategic principles of acquisition, engagement and retention

  • Industry-leading in your understanding and ability to advise on the orchestration of digital marketing services and systems, techniques and tactics, including SEO, automation, lead-gen, analytics, content and commerce

  • A capability builder with demonstrated expertise of what it takes to define, evolve, build and scale a marketing practice, to support a rapidly growing business and a diverse client roster

  • A player-coach: Proven record of team leadership, leading a team by example to inspiring their growth, elevating their work, while also being hands-on and ready to dive in and do

  • An analytical mind, with a history of building a culture of data-driven decision making and orienting teams to performance-based outcomes

  • Versed in the marketing platform landscape with experience developing partnerships, gaining certifications, accreditations to drive mutual value, staying apprised of what’s new and what’s next

  • A thought-leader who can bring and form fresh perspectives to both clients and colleagues, comfortable helping inform, shape or publish an agency POV on what’s changing in a digital world why it matters to Exec level marketers

  • An all-around professional with impressive presentation skills and presence, exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills, with the flexibility to adapt quickly to change

  • A combination of experience or exposure to both B2C and B2B industries is a plus
