The Workforce Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Specialist will play a key role in supporting Boston Children's EDI mission as outlined in our Declaration on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity. This is a dynamic and exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team and make a significant impact on our hospital community. The Workforce EDI Specialist will work with leaders and staff as an advisor to expand their capacity to address issues of equity and inclusion and cultural proficiency through professional learnings and consultation.

This Workforce EDI Specialist will:

  • Support the Workforce EDI team to maintain an ongoing assessment of needs and priorities through quantitative and qualitative data collection.

  • Collaborate with the VP & Chief Diversity Officer and Workforce EDI Director to create comprehensive and ongoing educational and professional development opportunities across BCH that deepen awareness, understanding, and respect for equity, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on EDI topics.

  • Build consensus and community around Equity, Diversity & Inclusion issues.

  • Data analysis and reporting: utilize data-driven EDI insights to track key metrics and identify areas for improvement. Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate EDI progress company stakeholders.

  • Assist the organization in creating inclusive policies related to recruitment, retention, development, and promotion practices of our people.

  • Take an active role in facilitating the growth and impact of our Employee Led Groups (ELGs) initiatives and events.

  • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in EDI and recommend evidence-based solutions.

  • Other duties and projects determined by Human Resources of the VP & Chief Diversity Officer as necessary to create and implement behaviors and practices that support our Workforce EDI strategy.

    To qualify, you must have:

  • BA degree in Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion, Social Work, Education, or a related field plus at least 2 years of experience with DEI work.

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing EDI programs and initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Passion for creating a diverse and inclusive work environment.

  • Active listener able to connect with stakeholders, understand all viewpoints and build consensus.
