We are looking for a dynamic Director of Operations to help drive our strategy in the manufacturing of our products, including ownership of plant activity and our production team. Leading our operations function includes support and guidance of manufacturing engineering, production control, supply chain, safety and facilities. This person is expected to build and lead a motivated and cohesive team by demonstrating strong communication skills, transparency, and a passion for success, while ensuring the growth and development of its individual members.
Responsibilities:
Using data and process to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement and crafting a culture of continuous improvement
Lead production team to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators pertaining to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity and root cause / countermeasure as needed
Review backlog, plan production (materials, machines, workforce) and evaluate overall capacity to determine if other countermeasures will be required to meet customer needs
Identify, develop and grow key talent to ensure retention of key staff and maintaining of key skills to ensure Dover Motion’s growth
Continually evaluate resource utilization (machines, assembly/test equipment, and workforce) and make recommendations to align capabilities and capacity with business needs
Ensure all machines, tools, and equipment are maintained to produce quality product efficiently and effectively with minimal down-time
Manage production budgets and implement cost controls as needed
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, Technical/Engineering degree preferred
8+ years’ experience in leadership/management
5+ years’ experience working in a lean manufacturing environment
Experience with MRP systems and material flow
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Experience / Skills that would strengthen your candidacy:
Experience in an ISO:9001 and/or ISO:13485 environment (or equivalent)
Practical knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, control plans/charts, calibration, inspection, etc.)
Ability to demonstrate excellent analytical skills and logic-based thinking
Comfortable prioritizing in a fast-paced environment
Practical knowledge of motion system assembly and/or metrology
General knowledge of assembly and machining principles
Strong problem solver and creative thinker
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
