State of Massachusetts Psychologist V - MTC in Bridgewater, Massachusetts

Duties: Serve as the Assistant Chairperson of the Community Access Board and forensic evaluator, which reviews and assesses progress in sex offender treatment, sexual dangerousness status, and applications for a Community Access Program and makes treatment recommendations; authors assigned reports and provides expert witness testimony in determination of sexual dangerousness status at trials in various Courts of the Commonwealth; participate in other institutional/departmental committees; performs all other duties as assigned. When assigned by a supervisor, provides direct supervision over psychologists of a lower grade. Applicant must have reliable transportation. Travel including but not limited to Department of Correction facilities and Courts of the Commonwealth may be required. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Hybrid schedule available 2-3 days per week. May work a hybrid schedule that includes working from home (up to 3 days per week) as well as working in the office. Preferred Qualifications: MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND/OR EXPRESS INTEREST IN OBTAINING DESIGNATED FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST IN 104 CMR 33.04(3) (b).At least 4 years’ experience providing administrative and clinical supervision over/for licensed Psychologists. At least 5 years of experience conducting forensic evaluations and testifying in court as an expert witness. Prior certification as a Designated Forensic Psychologist (DFP) in Massachusetts or board certification in forensic psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is preferred. Employees must have reliable transportation to state facilities and offices, courthouses, and other locations as needed.* *Comments: This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. The Massachusetts Department of Correction shall not hire anyone who may have direct contact with offenders, who has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison or other institution as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997; or has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse, or has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in the above paragraph. The agency shall consider any incidents of sexual harassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact with offenders or residents. The DOC urges bi-lingual applicants to apply. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have a Doctorate in Psychology from a school accredited by the American Psychological Association. Applicants must also have at least four years of years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional post-doctoral experience as a Licensed Psychologist in the application of psychological principles and techniques in a recognized agency providing psychological services or treatment, of which (B) at least two years must have included supervision over Post-doctoral Psychologists-in-training and /or Psychological Associates. Special Requirements: Current and valid registration as a Psychologist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Psychology. Based on assignment, must meet the eligibility requirements for Designated Forensic Psychologist in 104 CMR 33.04(3)(b). Based on assignment, travel may be required.
