Brockton Hospital Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist in Brockton, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of Cath Lab leadership, the technologists sets up, operates, monitors and maintains radiological, analytic recordings and computerized biomedical equipment and instrumentation to obtain and process data obtained by procedures in the Cath Lab. They assist providers during procedures and maintain appropriate technique under the direction of the operating providers.

Department: Cardiac Catheterization Lab

This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position

Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform role of scrub technician to support the providers at the bedside

  • Able to interpret clinical hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms and images from procedures to anticipate and support the providers and clinical staff

  • Remain current in trends within the radiology field and work to reduce x-ray exposure

  • Ability to operate highly technical Cath Lab equipment safely with knowledge of troubleshooting

  • Must be able to work as part of a team during procedures while focusing on safety and quality

  • Must understand the variety of devices used and their function to meet patient needs

  • Must have good understanding of vascular testing and equipment

  • Must be able to participate in call rotation with 30 min response time

    BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.

  • Able to remain calm in emergent conditions and situations

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors

  • Must be able to work independently to maintain daily operations of program and work to make enhancements as needed to assure the highest quality program and content.

    Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:

  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Associates or Bachelors degree in a health science field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Cath Lab with angioplasty/stenting experience

  • Certification/Licensure: BLS & ACLS, RTR License Required

  • Software/Hardware: Experience with Meditech preferred. Ability to use Microsoft office products preferred.
