Under the general direction of the Pre-Registration Team Leader, ensures that patients are registered with accurate insurance information for billing purposes as well as eligibility checks on a daily basis.
Location: 680 Centre Street, Brockton, MA
Department: Patient Registration
This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position.
Make confirmation calls to patients to inform them of their pending appointment
Check eligibility on patients insurance
Call patients to clarify any insurance issues
Call self-pay patients to ensure patients understand the payment owed at the time of their visit.
Call patient’s PCP office if a referral is required.
Call insurance carrier to question patient’s benefits.
Complete any special projects assigned by management.

Strong communication skills that ensure the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with patients, insurance carriers, and other employees.
Previous experience in a healthcare environment required.
Knowledge of IDX, modern office equipment, systems and procedures.
Ability to operate computers and navigate the internet.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office a plus.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting required.
Software/Hardware: IDX, Microsoft Office and ability to navigate the internet.
