Sanitation Supervisor

Job Description

A local supplier of retail food products is seeking a dedicated Sanitation Supervisor to join their expanding team in their MA facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of their food processing/manufacturing plant as they experience growth after a recent acquisition. The Sanitation Supervisor will lead a team of 12-15 individuals and work closely with the QA Manager and Sanitation Director.

Responsibilities

• Train all levels of employees on pre-operational inspections of equipment.

• Direct sanitation employee activities and establish priorities for cleaning in line with the effective operation and cleaning schedule.

• Ensure safe handling of chemicals and use of approved chemicals, including obtaining Safety Data Sheets.

• Collaborate with third-party service providers (such as chemical providers and sanitation consultants) to troubleshoot sanitation issues and drive cost savings.

• Calibrate and clean equipment to ensure accurate results.

• Lead facility CIP validations according to schedule.

• Assist with investigations, troubleshooting, and program review related to incident management.

• Ensure effective safety procedures, tools, and record keeping are managed through site leadership.

• Manage the Allergen and Non-Allergen Sanitation/Allergen Control Program.

• Oversee the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.

• Provide employee coaching and development for team members.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a supervisor of a sanitation team with a minimum of 3 direct reports.

• Experience in the food industry and sanitation team management.

• Knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and CIP.

• Experience with documentation of HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs related to sanitation areas.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Understanding of food safety, SOP, sanitizing, food production, and GSFI.

• Supervisory experience with the ability to implement and improve procedures in accordance with FDA standards.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both lab and warehouse space within a food processing/manufacturing plant. The Sanitation Supervisor will oversee all sanitation activities across these areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Brockton, Massachusetts.
