Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Payroll Coordinator II in Brookline, Massachusetts
The Payroll Coordinator II supports the day-to-day operations of the payroll office in a dynamic environment and participates in the preparation, maintenance, processing of payroll data, information, and records ensuring accuracy and completeness. The Payroll Coordinator II is familiar with DFCI pay policies to ensure accurate processing of employee payments.
This position requires a customer service friendly individual capable of multi-tasking. This position has access to all wage, benefit, and payroll related information for all employees that must be handled with the utmost confidentiality.

• Resolve or escalate DFCI staff inquiries regarding payroll and timekeeping issues. Contact employees and/or department representative to resolve payroll issues on Employee Timesheet.
• Provide employee wage statement requests for Employee Income and Wage verifications and Worker’s Comp earnings.
• Track stop payment requests through bank website.
• Coordinate and collects data and documentation for internal/external audits and Legal Department requests.
• Assist with maintenance and setup of Employee MBTA pass deduction.
• Backup Payroll Coordinator for incoming emails in Payroll mailbox and respond to staff inquiries.
• Serve as Payroll backup to the Senior Payroll Coordinator.
• Prepare and input Payroll entries for Special Payment to staff.
• Provide payroll system support by performing routine testing of ERP system for required vendor updates.
• Identify and recommend enhancements or changes to processes and programs to help automate and streamline tasks.
• Process off-cycle checks as needed for missed payments, involuntary terminations.
• Review daily exceptions on Bank website for Positive Pay issues requiring DFCI response.
• Perform all functions of printing weekly paychecks and direct deposit remittances for mailing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related preferred.
Minimum Experience:
2 years of payroll experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Familiarity with HR and Payroll principles/processes.
• Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily tasks.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer focused, with the ability to handle sensitive/confidential employee information with highest level of discretion and integrity.
• Excellent attention to detail.
