The mission of the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) Nursing Division is to build on a legacy of nursing excellence by caring with compassion, advancing the art and science of nursing, and advocating for the health of patients, families and communities. The Graduate Resident Nurse utilizes the nursing process as the frame of reference for practice and provides direct patient care, with supervision from a registered professional nurse, to patients and families. This is an entry-level nursing position for Graduate Resident Nurses. Training, evaluation, and competencies for this role are overseen by a Nurse Leader in the department. During the first year of employment, you will be enrolled in a Nurse Residency Program. Nurse Leadership will determine a balance of Clinical and Educational time.

36 Day/Night Rotation; 12 Hour Shifts; Every Other Weekend Commitment and Holiday Rotation Commitment.

6-Southeast is a 20 bed Med/Surg Telemetry Unit providing expert care for a variety of diagnoses with a focus on cardiac and respiratory conditions. Our team is committed to a supportive culture embodied in teamwork, collaboration, and mentorship. We are the designated unit for patients recovering from Feminizing Gender Affirming surgeries and have become passionate advocates for the transgender population. This diverse environment creates an ideal setting for learning opportunities and growth.

Job Description:

Education:

Graduate of a 2-4 year state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities.

Demonstrates the necessary clinical skills and technical knowledge to provide care for patients according to Nursing Policy and Procedures.

Demonstrates the necessary clinical skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to the unit-specific competencies.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration; graduating nursing students must provide NCLEX registration documentation when eligible.

American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate

Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC Skills

Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs

Experience;

0-1 years related work experience required.

Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
