General Ophthalmologist
Burlington, MA
Lahey Hospital and Medical Center (a founding member of Beth Israel Lahey Health) is offering a position for a general ophthalmologist to join our Division of Ophthalmology. We are a physician-led, multi-disciplinary group practice of more than 600 doctors. Our two hospitals (Burlington and Peabody) and multiple satellite clinics are located in the northern and western suburbs of Boston. The area provides excellent school systems, abundant cultural activities, and convenient access to the mountains and seacoast.
Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is a 317-bed tertiary care facility with outpatient clinics and Level I trauma center located in Burlington, MA. Lahey Hospital and Medical Center has a fully integrated EPIC EHR platform. The Ophthalmology division has four modern and fully equipped offices (Burlington, Peabody, Arlington, Lynnfield, MA) and a state-of-the-art surgical facility in the Peabody hospital. Our operating rooms are equipped with LenSx, Centurion phacoemulsification machines, Zeiss Lumera microscopes, ORA system, ECP, and MicroPulse laser unit. In our clinics, we have lasers (Argon, SLT, Nd:YAG) and updated, new diagnostic testing-- OCTs, Optos, Visual fields, ERGs. * * We offer anterior segment OCT imaging and dry eye management and treatment technologies, LipiScan, LipiView and IPL.
The successful applicant will join a dynamic ophthalmology service with 16 comprehensive and subspecialty ophthalmologists and 8 optometrists. We are a teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine, and a part of the residency teaching program of Tufts Medical Center. Our MDs qualify for academic appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine. Our division also has longstanding teaching and service relationships with ophthalmology programs in Egypt, Turkey, and El Salvador.
We are seeking a board certified or eligible general ophthalmologist with excellent surgical and clinical skills. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in resident teaching and collaborate with colleagues on clinical, academic, and administrative projects. Research interests are welcomed and supported, though not a requirement for this position.
