Pathology Assistant
Job Description:
Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Manager of Pathology, the Pathologist Assistant supports the Department by;
Prosecting surgical and biopsy specimens.
Facilitating the activities that occur upon the request of an autopsy.
Assist with frozen sections, special procedures and research activities.
Participates in Quality improvement activities.
-Updates and develops Departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Pathologist Assistant program, Bachelors degree or equivalent related education and experience with emphasis on human anatomy.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: None required.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Fine motor skills with good hand eye coordination. Must be detail oriented. Knowledge of human anatomy and organ systems. Must habe the ability to use a PC, PC based software and computerized equipment. Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills. In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
Experience: Graduate of an accredited Pathologist Program
