Physician - Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine
Job Description:
The Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LMHC) seeks a board certified/eligible palliative medicine physician to join our growing interdisciplinary team and contribute to our clinical, educational and quality improvement missions.
Our team provides inpatient consultation services within Lahey’s 335-bed academic medical center affiliated with the University of Massachusetts Chan School of Medicine. Outpatient services are provided in multiple specialty clinics. An ACGME-accredited hospice and palliative medicine fellowship starts in July, 2024.
The successful candidate will demonstrate passions for inpatient palliative care, medical education as a core fellowship faculty member and mentor for residents and medical students, and quality improvement. The Division’s commitment is to support candidates’ professional development through matching their interests with available clinical, educational and other academic opportunities.
LHMC is a member Beth Israel Lahey Health, an integrated healthcare system that includes 4 academic medical centers and 14 member hospitals. LHMC is conveniently located in Burlington, MA, approximately 15 miles northwest of Boston and a short drive to the lakes, mountains, and shores of New England. The area offers excellent schools and academic institutions, as well as abundant cultural and recreational amenities making it a truly desirable location in which to practice and live.
Candidates must have completed hospice and palliative medicine fellowship training by hire date or demonstrate other comparable experience. Opportunity for an academic appointment with University of Massachusetts Chan School of Medicine commensurate with level of achievement.
