Keurig Dr Pepper Senior Project Engineer in Burlington, Massachusetts
As a Sr Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the Hot Primary Packaging portfolio of projects (the pod). Projects generally come from R&D pipeline, Maintenance of Business (MOB), Productivity and Business Continuity. In this role you will be responsible for budgets, schedules and prioritization of projects as well as regular communication to senior leadership. Technically, you will be responsible to set the testing and success criteria as well as guide all projects through the Packaging Engineering process and implementation into the plants. Additional responsibilities would include specification development and documentation, driving both internal and external resources, building relationships within the organization and with outside vendors. Working as a senior member of the team, you would also be expected to contribute to department process development, continuous improvement activities and mentoring junior staff.
Lead packaging design projects for KDP from concept through execution, into the plants and market, and ongoing performance
Document performance and success requirements, establish timelines, determining capital and expense budgets
Providing operational expertise to vendors and suppliers
Build strategic relationships with packaging, material and equipment suppliers and p rovide operational expertise on KDP processes and operations
Build strategic relationship with our internal plants. Understand and improve plant trial processes as well as plant capacity and capability
Build strategic relationships with internal organizations such as Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, R&D, Quality, and Senior Leadership
Develop, execute, and enforce quality engineering practices for KDP packaging. Review and analyze data to authorize material and package designs for products produced in company facilities
Contribute to resource planning and project prioritization
• Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering preferred) • Must have excellent project management and documentation skills; minimum 5+ years of experience managing projects with outside vendors and/or contract manufacturers • Excellent computer skills using Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, MS Project as well as data storage and collaboration using SharePoint, MS Teams, MS OneDrive • Demonstrated working experience with multi-tasking, prioritizing, managing multiple projects and balancing schedules against technical rigor & project risk • Must be self-motivated, drive for completion of projects and have ability to drive individuals and other parts of the organization • Ability to travel on a regular basis may be required • Must have the ability to pick up quickly on our business processes • Knowledge of test development, laboratory testing, pilot testing and plant trials is a plus • Knowledge of data acquisition and data analysis and use of statistical methods (DOEs, Root Cause Analysis, Regression, Comparison Testing) is a plus • Knowledge of process development between packaging materials and production equipment is a plus • Knowledge of CapEx and Stage Gate processes a plus • Experience with producing technical specifications and drawings is a plus • Experience in developing and implementing packaging with large volume scale up is a plus • Experience with CAD software and GD&T is a plus • Demonstrated working knowledge/understanding of manufacturing packaging equipment is a plus
