Keurig Dr Pepper Summer 2023 Mechanical Engineer Intern in Burlington, Massachusetts

Job Overview

In the Summer 2023 Mechanical Engineer Intern at Burlington, MA, you will join Keurig Dr. Pepper Appliance organization and will work on cross-functional teams, developing next generation Keurig brewers. You will support mechanical, fluid, and thermal design activities critical to new and existing appliance development. This position will have significant impact and leverage on current and future products and will be in an excellent position for visibility within the KDP organization.

What you will do:

  • Quickly get up to speed with new technologies and products.

  • Perform activities related to design, testing and evaluation of electro, thermal, and fluid mechanical systems.

  • Create 3D CAD designs, specifications, drawings and perform tolerance/variation analyses.

  • Perform structural simulations of new mechanical designs.

  • Partner with a cross-functional team of technical, business and manufacturing subject matter experts

  • Proactively identify and close knowledge gaps

  • Follow all KDP policies and procedures.

    Shift/Schedule:

  • The KDP 2023 Summer Co-Op Program will run from 6/5/23 - 8/11/23

  • Full-time; 40 hours per week

  • Monday-Friday

  • 8:00am until 5:00pm

  • Hybrid

    Compensation:

  • Pay at $27per hour

  • Paid bi-weekly

    As a co-op at Keurig Dr Pepper, you will:

  • Participate in meet & greets and lunch & learns with KDP executives and other organization leaders

  • Receive professional development training such as networking, professional skills development and presenting

  • Be paired with a mentor to enhance your knowledge of other parts of the business and build your network

  • Complete a project from start to finish and present it and your takeaways to your team, department vice president and other KDP stakeholders

Requirements

What you must have :

  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a full-time academic program from an accredited college or university, majoring in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering program

  • 3D design/modeling (SolidWorks)

  • Component/Assembly design analysis

  • Mechanical engineering theory including kinematics, dynamics, fluids and heat transfer

  • Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles and best practices

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Curiosity to drive new technical capabilities and understanding for Keurig Dr Pepper

    Preferred skills:

  • An aptitude for creating and presenting data-based trade-off studies as input for decisions

  • Ability to present status of development projects to management and stakeholders

  • System or subsystem modeling and simulation
